Tuesday Hill Climb

I am going to do a hill climb ride tomorrow evening. Planned route is Olde Stage to Left Hand to Lee Hill, brief and steep excursion up Deer Trail Road at the top of Lee Hill, and then back to Boulder. Pace will be moderate to as fast as anyone wants to go, with regroups at appropriate points. I will be at Amante on North Broadway at 5:10, leaving by 5:15.

Fwd: Sunday March 28 "B" ride

It's my turn again to lead the type "B" ride for this coming Sunday.
I remind that type "B" means slower pace. Usually we all start together and then we split in 2 groups. Who wants to keep a slower pace for this Sunday sticks with me.

Weather is supposed to be Sunny and mid 50s-low 60s. So, yes, time to get out!
I am confident that the snow we may get over Fri night into Sat morning should melt by Sun morning, but of course I will make sure that roads are clean.

 Meeting Time: 10:00 a.m. at Vic's

Route: Rabbit Mountain through 63rd north - St Vrain East - 75th N - Back from 36. (optional: if we feel social, we can stop by for coffee in Lyons)
2 short cuts:  who wants slower pace and shorter route: Go back from Hygiene when we hit 75th N or keep going on CO 66 back from 36 when we take R turn for Rabbit Mountain.

Sorry ladies, for our lap tempo ride on Saturday. I don't think it is going to happen (20% chance of snow and low 40s).. If there is enough interest, I can try to reschedule it for Tuesday March 30th after work at 5:00 pm. So, let me know, otherwise I train over lunch time usually.

 Ciao
 Luisa

Fwd: Late Braking News: Sunday Ride!

Here's the plan:  11:00 at Vics for a 2-3 hour ride. I'll be leading the "B" ride if others want to go faster, further, or higher. Thinking of Hygiene to one of the boxes.  Hope to see folks out.

Thursday Evening Hill Climb Ride

Thursday (3/18) - 5:30 pm - Meet at Broadway and Baseline (SW Corner).
Let's kick it off with a climb up Flagstaff to the overlook turnoff (faster riders can do the driveway up to the overlook)
We will take the back streets to the back of Chautauqua and then up Flagstaff Rd.  Be very cautious on the way down...
Pace - Whatever you make it.
*It get's dark around 7:00, so bring a blinky light if you are ride home is a long way.

Ciao,
Stefano

Build Base Ride Weekend - 3/13 & 3/14

Come out one or both days if you can!  Misery loves company.

Saturday - 13th - 10:00 am - Weld County Loop - 75 ~ 80 Miles - (for shorter ride, turn back and head in through Erie)
Sunday - 14th - 10:00 am - Start with Linda's B Ride and then head up Carter Lake area.  ~ 60 to 75 miles depending on where we turn around or if we go around Carter Lake.  (Daylights Saving Begins, so spring forward)

Rides will be around 17 ~ 19 MPH Average.  Mostly steady, keep stops short.
Work on paceline, echelons.  Start Easy-Medium pace.  Medium>Hard pace in the middle/end with an hour continuous section.

Prep - Make sure bike is in good shape, get a good breakfast, eat enough food and drink lots of liquids on ride, have post-ride recovery meal planned out...

Cheers,
Stephen

Fwd: Sunday "B" ride - coffee in Lyons - 10:00 (remember DST begins Sunday)

This coming Sunday is my turn to lead the "B" ride. We'll meet as usual at 10:00 at Vic's at 30th & Iris and head up to Lyons via 75th and Hwy 66. Let's plan on stopping for a snack at the Stone Cup Cafe in Lyons before we head back along the same route. Pace will be mild to moderate, on the order of 2-1/2 hours of riding. Those who want to go longer could head up the canyon towards Raymond.

Remember to set your clocks forward this weekend - Daylight Savings Time starts on Sunday. We'll ride as long as the roads are dry and temperature is expected to be above freezing at 10:00.
