Weekend Rides for 2/2 & 2/3

Saturday -  Send out email if you are heading out.  I'm off to Eldora to go skate ski. If you want to ski, I got room for ride up.  Leave around 8:30 to 9:00.

Sunday - Medium Pace/Endurance Ride.  If 30 to 40 degrees, then 2 hours or less for me.  Above 40, around 3 hours.  Similar to last week.  Some Echelons/Rotating Paceline and maybe a climb up to Rabbit Mtn...

Vics - Meet up at 9:45, Leave at 10:00 am

Weekend Rides - 1/26 & 1/27

Start meeting at Vics at 9:45, Leave by 10:00...

Saturday - Around 2 hours.  Luisa is going to lead some of us on some Strength/Tempo Type Intervals.  Maybe up Nelson Rd. depending on wind.  Splits and regroups along the way.

Sunday - 2.5 to 3+ hour ride - Jeff Y. will lead the way.  Endurance Ride.  Route dependent on wind (hopefully lack there of...)  Will split into smaller groups depending on turnout.

Thursday Lunch Ride - 12:00 at Vics

Try, Try, Try again.

Shooting for a Thursday Lunch Ride - 12:00 at Vics.  I am heading out Diagonal to IBM and then going up Neva Rd. to Hwy 36.  I am planning on doing a Tempo Interval up Neva ~ 18 to 22 Minutes depending on wind/legs.  (Don't worry it's not that hard at my speed.)  Regroup at Hwy. 36 and then ride in...

Howdy Y'all - It's been a while since we had a ride!!!

Thursday - Lunch Ride if it ain't too windy.  12:15 at Amante on N. Broadway.  Easy to Medium Pace.  36, Neva Rd., back in on Diagonal.  May adjust route if windy on 36.

 

Weekend Rides - Vics (30th & IRIS)

Saturday - Send out email if heading out. (I'm off skiing...)

Sunday - Base Ride - New Rider/Racer Ride - Meet and Greet at 9:45.  Roll out at 10:00. Split up into groups - 2 to 4 hours.

Saturday Ski & ACA Meeting, Sunday Ride/Ski?

Saturday Cross Country Ski - Looks like snow coming in.  So if Eldora gets enough of the white stuff to open Cross Country Trails, I'll be heading up on Saturday.  Leave Boulder around 7:30, Ski for 1.5 hours +/-, be back in Boulder by 11:00.  email or call if you want to carpool up.  Stephen@Haydel.com or 303-868-4236

Winter Weekend Rides

Winter Weekend Rides - We are moving all rides to roll out at 10:00 at Vics unless otherwise notified. Weather Dependent. Send out emails on iffy days, if you plan to roll out.
Saturday more open, Sunday usually longer endurance rides. Bring a helmet and good winter tires, Gatorskins, Armadillos, etc, as we don't want to be spending a lot of time waiting on flats. Also, sometimes we may turn off on some dirt roads to break up the ride.

The 1st and 3rd Sundays Swift Cycling will do new rider/recruitment rides. Meet and Greet at 9:45, ride at 10:00.

New Racer/Rider Recruitment Rides - Dec. 2 & 16

Hey All,

We will host two New Racer/Rider Recruitment Rides on December 2 & 16.  1st and 3rd Sundays.

Vics - 9:45 Meet and Greet - 10:00 Ride

Base/Aerobic Fitness rides between 2 to 4 hours.  Split into a few groups depending on current fitness level.  Work on Pacelines and Echelons. *I will be leading the slower 2 hour group, as I have been out of action for most of November. 

 

The Farmers Almanac says it's going to be great weather riding (or planting winter wheat), so come on out and start getting ready for the 2008 biking season.

I will place a blurb in the Daily Camera and on the ACA Forum.  We will use this as a guide to doing some more Recruitment Rides through the winter.

 

Happy Thanksgiving!  I'll be thinking about biking as I'm on the beach in Mexico drinking a few Margaritas.  :-)

ride tomorrow - Sat. 11/17

Hi Folks-
I remember a while back there was a plan to have organized base rides
on the first and third Saturdays of the month.  Well, tomorrow is the
third Saturday of November.  I'll be there.  The only question is
time.  The earlier the better for me, but I have a little
flexibility.  I'd suggest 9:30 again.  Any objections?  Unless at
least two people reply and say "I'd rather do xx:xx time," then that's
when I will be there.  As for route, what's everyone think of out 75th
to the Box, back St. Vrain to 63rd?  I'm also starting to itch for
some dirt, but I can hold off a while if necessary.

I can do the cleanup either this Sunday, the 4th, or next Sunday, the 11th?  We can do it in the morning or afternoon, whichever works for the most people.  We need at least 6 people....

Ride to Lyons and get a Muffin and Espresso.  Winter hammerheads can do a Fruit Loop while the rest of us relax.

Social Pace

Skills Clinic Delayed to Oct. 28

Sunday's weather looks like it is going to be cold and snow/rain.

So, Andrea and I are going to delay the Skills Clinic a Week to Oct. 28 at 10:00.

 

A few ideas of what we will go over...

• Paceline / Pack - Skills and Group Riding Etiquette.  How to rotate off the front, signalling hazards, echelons, staying on shoulders.
• A little bumping and rubbing - On grass at park
• Cornering - Counter Steering, picking a line
• ? - If you have questions let us know.
